What is Cents-ability?
Cents-ability is a strategy for raising awareness - and funds - for the fight against hunger. Cents-Ability is a small first step in the battle against hunger and poverty. The Mission committee invites all members of all ages to contribute a few cents at every meal. This simple act is an expression of thanks for what we have received. It is also a commitment to share with others in response to Jesus' command "You give them something to eat." Cents-Ability originated in 1976 as "Two-Cents-A-Meal," a project begun by Presbyterian Women to involve individuals and families in a corporate response to world hunger. The Cents-Ability containers are located on your table each potluck. |
| Prayer Chain! What is that? - It is a group of people throughout our church who pray for specific needs, joys, healing, and comfort for our church family as well as friends of our church family. Often, the most successful projects are the sum of many people contributing a little of their time and talents.
If you think you could share a little of your time to be a part of this ministry, please contact either Gail at the church office or Ruth Kimmel to express your desire. This service usually requires that you make one phone call - guidance is provided and your contribution is greatly appreciated.
Also, if you know of a situation that you would like to see added to our prayer chain, call the church office or fill out the Prayer Request form on the Pastor's Page so we can make your concern, joy, sickness, etc. part of the "chain" in this prayer ministry of the church. |

| | ONGOING: Property and Maintenance is requesting the help of church members and friends in noting problems with the cleaning of the church. Please write a note identifying the "issue" that needs attention and submit it to the Property and Maintenance committee members or the church office. There will be a walk-through at least once a month to address these issues. Thank you for your help. |

| MARK YOUR CALENDARS: The Arkansas Presbyterian Pilgrimage (formally Cursillo) will be held at Ferncliff on April 26-29, 2012. Presbyterian Pilgrimage is a faith renewal program for individuals. Its goal is to have a positive spiritual impact on the individuals, and thus, on the environments in which they live and work. Pilgrimage is a short course in living the Christian faith. It is designed for Christians, to strengthen their faith, and to provide them with a framework for continued spiritual growth within their church and in the world. For more information go to www.pilgrimage-arkansas.org or the Presbytery website (www.presbyteryofarkansas.org). |
| Take a look on the stage the next time you are in the Fellowship Hall. A lovely piano was donated to the church by Pam Mathews. The church appreciates the generosity of the Mathews family! |
